The coin is dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Vikentii Khvoika (1900-1993), an outstanding Ukrainian archeologist, the discoverer of Trypillia (4-2 milleniums B.C.), Zarubynetska (3 century B.C.- 4 century A.D.) and Chernyakhivska (2-7 centuries A.D.) civilizations, as well as Scythian and Eastern-Slavic artefacts. He is one of the founders of the Kyiv Municipal Museum (now - the National Museum of the History of Ukraine)
